Indie Pop Artist Mae Krell Hits Too Close To Home With New Explorative “imposter syndrome” EP

Now this time Krell really hit too close to home and frankly, we’re not ready to face our own issues. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out imposter syndrome, a brand new EP from artist Mae Krell. While Krell is currently on a new musical journey after a two-year hiatus, Krell has worn many different hats in the music industry. From taking professional pictures for Rolling Stone and RGA to founding both online music publication Tongue Tied Magazine and the more recent Bitch MGMT multimedia PR agency, Krell racks up career milestones left and right. While Krell is now taking it one day at a time as an artist, their ambition knows no boundaries. At just 22 years of age, Krell is wise and more musically mature than many of her peers.

“I’ve grown up, begun to gain confidence as an artist, and had the opportunity to have my voice really listened to in every step of the music making process. With all of this positive change still comes doubt; and often really intense imposter syndrome, at least for me. This record is about pushing through it because you know it’ll all be worth it.” – Mae Krell

Now we know we have been preaching that we want indie artists to break out of songwriting molds and widen their scopes to have different conversations, but Krell found our insecurity. A beautifully-written collection of 4 tracks, imposter syndrome explores the feelings of self-doubt and self-dissections that many people go through during their 20s. As a 30-year-old myself, I have experienced Imposter Syndrome personally and it took me quite some time to channel it into creative fuel. While this may resonate with people on the outside, for Krell imposter syndrome is the culmination of her personal growth over the last two years, through every experience and struggle. If you are in the mood for some heartfelt and cathartic indie pop music, Imposter Syndrome will hit you right in the feels, as long as you open up to let it.
