Oh look, yet another Netflix “original”. Sorry about all of these y’all, I just try to give each series that Netflix puts out a chance, since most of the time they know what they are doing. Most of the time. Luckily, this is one of those times. I was absolutely thrilled watching Happy Valley, even if it definitely took an episodes for me to really get into it. I was planning on singling out individual cast members for their performances like normal, but they all did well across the board. Way to go Happy Valley! If you are looking for an interesting BBC/Netflix collaboration that is slightly less gruesome than the likes of Luther or The Fall, you have found your series.
My biggest peeve with Happy Valley is the length. Only six episodes! Are you kidding me!?!?!?! I completely understand that it is a mini-series but come on! So are Sherlock and Luther but you don’t see me complaining about their lengths do you? I do want to make a side note as well, as the amount of violence against these police officers is absolutely appalling. Hey England! Let your police officers carry some more lethal weapons to protect themselves!
