Ginesse Follows Up Her 2020 Debut EP With New Indie Electronica Single “Gatorade”

While finally making your debut EP splash is a major milestone, what your release afterwards means just as much. On our latest dive into the indie-pop world we are checking out “Gatorade”, the newest single from Ginesse. Formed as a unique musical project from actress Cait Fairbanks, Ginesse is the result of a brilliant actor playing the role of a musician along with music that speaks to the soul. While Ginesse is making her own waves, Cait Fairbanks has already made her own splash in the acting world. From an Emmy-nominated role on the Young and the Restless to her performance as Veronica on Heather: The Musical, the brains behind Ginesse easily proves she has the necessary chops. While Ginesse was only founded back in 2018, the project already has the attention of PAPER, NYLON, and Billboard.

While Ginesse originally popped on our radar late last year with her debut EP Somewhere To Die, we were excited to finally check out Ginesse’s much anticipated follow up. Her first official single of 2021 and since Somewhere To Die, “Gatorade” is Ginesse’s effort to wade her way into the indie electronica pool full force.  While the first look at the title may give you a different branded opinion, it is actually a play on words with the astrological phenomenon of mercury in retrograde and Ginesse’s own personal astrological beliefs. While her dreamy vocals and witty lyrics thrive in the spotlight for the majority of the track, Ginesse’s range of effects and beats create an intriguing electronica framework for the rest of “Gatorade” to thrive. Blending the likes of experimental vocal stabs, interesting use of synths, and modern electro beats, “Gatorade” is a fine addition to the Ginesse catalog!
