When we step back into the festival scene after our prolonged absence, this is a track we expect to hear and keep the party alive. On our latest visit over to Protocol Recordings we are checking out “Midnight Love”, the latest drop from Almero. While Almero is still rather new to the Protocol he has already been making waves within the Protocol community. Almero’s debut single “They Don’t Know” with CAMARDA was featured on the Protocol Grooves EP, as well as having a featured track on Protocol Lab – ADE 2020. He’s also dropped additional releases on Revealed Recordings and Universal, and has earned support from Hardwell, Sander van Doorn, and Nicky Romero to name a few. Almero continues to drop numerous fun dancefloor singles with Protocol, so we think that he may have finally found his home label.
Weirdly enough, this is actually a milestone marker for us in our history of covering Almero. Casually following Almero since his Protocol debut back on Porotocol Lab – ADE 2020, “Midnight Love” is actually the first track we are checking out that is from Almero only…so how does a solo track hold up? His 8th official release under Protocol, “Midnight Love” is almost the key image we conjure up when we think of a groovy house gem. Primed and ready for the dance floor, the track highlights its uplifting melodies and groovy basslines that serve as the main drivers for the track’s energy and tone. Almero even injects a minuscule amount of tropical house beats within the production, adding just a little bit of whimsy to the song…as if it is transporting you to a sandy beach in the Caribbean.
