Folk Rocker Mo Kenney Shares Her Feelings of Loneliness in Single “Game of Pricks”
The journey of a musician is paved with many twists and turns, growing and changing your trajectory over the course of your career. This time around we are diving back into the folk world with “Game of Pricks”, the newest drop from artist Mo Kenney. Debuting with her self-titled album back in 2012, Mo Kenney is an artistic soul who relentlessly follows her creative impulses to make the music that flows throughout her psyche. Starting off with an angsty-filled indie rock sound, Kenney has explored many different facets of rock over her career with psychedelic and sonic rock being standout styles for her later albums. With an almost decade-long career, Kenney has wrapped up a number of accolades including the 2013 SOCAN Songwriting Prize for her song “Sucker,” a nomination for the 2016 Adult Alternative Album of the Year JUNO for “In My Dreams”, just to name a few. Mo Kenney is a force to be reckoned with in the indie rock world.

Officially the second release from Kenney’s upcoming Covers album, “Game of Pricks” gives us another look at the current indie style running its course through Kenney’s mind. Following up with a similar theme that we embraced in her rendition of Patsy Cline’s “You Belong To Me”, Kenney oozes the loneliness that many are feeling during the current reset of the world. This latest track exemplifies Kenney’s ability to expertly express her feelings through organic instrumentals and minimalist lyrics. We could easily see this being a favorite in the Mo Kenney live experience, serving as a bookend to this chapter of her career. Even though the future of concerts and live music is highly contested at the moment, Mo Kenney is determined to find new and innovative ways to build her constantly growing fanbase and community.
