While we are always down for electronic music that explores a much larger idea within ourselves, inject a bit of funk into your track and you have us sold. On our latest visit to Protocol we were able to check out “I Want You To Know”, the latest single from Trilane. Since Protocol is all about promoting the fresh blood added to their roster, we are no surprise that they have expanded their recruitment pool. Between these two artists, they have been featured on many of the large labels such as Trilane being a five-time release for Protocol, along with both Revealed and Wall Recordings. Trilane is consistently experimenting and evolving their sound, so each time they pop in your feed there will be a different sound alongside it. Will he finally find his home within the Protocol roster? We’ll have to see what the future holds. Now official Protocol veterans, Trilane is quickly becoming engrained in the Protocol culture and roster.
While Trilane does enjoy experimenting and tweaking their sound, they like to keep their progressive roots active and present. However, Trilane dives deep into the house music end of the pool in “I Want You To Know”, allowing the genre to influence their clear trifecta. Featuring soulful vocal riffs, progressive piano melodies, and a grungy, deep bassline, the track has all of the makings of a traditional house bop. However, Trilane takes it a step further by sampling their own successful hit “Bittersweet” as well as laser effects to give “I Want You To Know” the Trilane touch. Following their previous single “Way Out”, “I Want You To Know” is almost guaranteed to be a unique addition to the Trilane catalog.
