It’s time we took a step back from the big room house that we have been spitting the last few weeks (Okay, not that long, I know). To wrap up this week have the latest release from Shanahan, “Wasting Time”. A rather busy body, Shanahan has been keeping himself focused by working and collaborating with some of the best in today’s industry such as Hardwell and First State. It doesn’t stop there, as he has even received plenty of support from other names such as Nicky Romero, Tiesto, and Above & Beyond. With so many producers from around the globe and skill spectrum behind him, it is no surprise that Shanahan has been putting out quality content for quite a bit of time now.
Anyway, enough gloating. How is the track as a whole? “Wasting Time” initially starts off very slow, with a simply piano intro. Then Ruby Prophet’s (who is featured on the track) vocals are introduced to the listen, capturing them with her words and soothing voice. The track then picks up and throws the listener into a flurry of grooving beats that will sway any individual over to the dance floor. Will it become a party anthem like how it sounds? Probably not, but the track won’t be disappearing from our playlists any time soon. We are left in a state of euphoria.
