Electric Hawk’s Cole Jackson Explores His Darker Side in New Single “Wanna Be” Ft. Bitbird’s Faux Ivvy

Every artist has to dabble on the dark side for a bit, even if it is just to grow in the light. On our latest visit to Electric Hawk we are checking out “Wanna Be”, the latest drop from Cole Jackson.  Spending the last year building a fanbase through his remixes, Jackson is finally ready to drop his own original work. Gaining solid support from his remixes of popular tracks from BORNS, Flume, RAC, as well as collaborations with Quiet Bison, Jackson has indeed put all of the pieces in place for his own sound to take shape. Over the last year, Jackson has been quietly crafting his style and molding the foundation for the vision he had in his mind…his own statement on the world of dance-pop. Along with plenty of aid from Electric Hawk Records, Jackson is primed and ready to dive deep into the electronic dance world and come out high on the other side.

‘Wanna Be’ is a track to show a darker side of my project. Faux Ivvy and I hit it off pretty quick and I knew he would be perfect to create that more eerie vibe. Overall the song has a lot to do with the duality in our everyday lives and emotions.”  Cole Jackson

When it comes to working in any creative field, we learned very early on not to be pigeon-holed into a single type of music or subgenre if you have aspirations of expanding your horizons in the future. Jackson first popped on our radar earlier this year with his bright summery single “Go”, and now we are seeing Jackson take that creative leap to the dark side. Recruiting Bitbird vocalist Faux Ivvy to add a different flair to the production, “Wanna Be” toes the line between future bass and dubstep while letting the track’s hard-hitting beats make their statement. Dabbling between eerie and emotive, Jackson and Faux Ivvy’s chemistry adds more room in the creative sandbox for Jackson to find the darker version of his project. While each single contrasts each other wildly, they both show just how dynamic of a producer Jackson is.
