Desert Dwellers Give Tribal House “Musiki Ukabili” A 2021 Coat of Paint + New Reloaded Remix!
When you have such a long and storied career as today’s artists have, you want to go back and give a touch up to some of your earlier hits once in a while. On our first visit over to Dreaming Awake we are checking out “Musiki Ukabili”, the latest drop from Desert Dwellers. Created by musician friends Amani Friend & Treavor Moontribe, the Desert Dwellers specialize in the infusions of electro and dance beats with world music. Stimulation for the mind, this deep fusion of cultural sounds and downtempo framework serves as an introduction for many into an entire genre of music that they could normally pass over. Deep bass, earthy percussion, etheric voices and surreal instrumentals…meet the Desert Dwellers sound.
When you decide to go and revisit some of your earlier hits, you better know what you are doing when you tweak the formula. Originally created back in 2004 in the earlier days of the Desert Dwellers, “Musiki Ukabili” is a tribal/afro house single inspired by tribal chants and the sounds of native instruments. This time Australian producer uone stepped up to the plate to drop one of his most banger remixes yet, utilizing a well-known vocal sample that will delight listeners if they are familiar with their work. In their latest effort to update some of their early work, Desert Dwellers decided to pop into the production studio and drop a remix of their own, increasing the ambient beats surround the core tribal chant and the instrumental framework around it. While we may have missed “Musiki Ukabili” when it dropped on its first run, but now we can experience this afro/tribal house treat together.
