You can’t slow Deniz Koyu down, so you might as well hop on the train and enjoy the ride. This week we are heading back over to Protocol for “Without You”, the latest club single from Deniz Koyu. A veteran in the world of progressive and electro house, Koyu has been rather busy leading these genres and molding them into their modern iterations. With massive hits such as “Tung!”, “Bong”, and the house indie pop fusion that ended up as “Paradise”, Koyu is determined to assist these genres in growing back to their peak. Koyu has been diligently at work with KO:YU, releasing a few high profile remixes for The Chainsmokers and Alesso. We may not have many moments to just let Deniz take the stage, but he always adds a solid contribution to every track he collaborates in.
The second part in Koyu’s most recent series, “Without You” shifts to the next stage right where “Next To You” left off. Our first time around we were treated to a story about two fresh lovers meeting as the sparks fly, but now let’s jump into the future. “Without you” embodies that feeling of loneliness when a new couple is separated from an extended length of time. Koyu continues to break from his previous mold and move further towards a breezy, radio-friendly vibe, taking a step out of the way for Jess Bell. Bell’s vocal performance cuts through Deniz’s production, adding power and feeling behind the track’s narrative. While “Without You” may be the second track in the series, we are already hooked and ready for the remainder. Don’t make us wait Deniz Koyu!
