You never know when talent and creativity will strike and when it does you have to do everything to satisfy that urge. On our latest dive into the Canadian indie music world we have “Streets to Nowhere”, the first major drop from the project Est-Her. Beginning his creative and artistic career in college, Est-Her yearned for a creative outlet while performing as a dancer with The Stuggart Ballet Company in Germany. Spending many late nights writing songs and uploading them to the Internet, it wasn’t until he was scouted a few months later by UK record labels and producers that the itch was starting to be scratched. After visiting London, he stopped pursuing ballet and Est-Her was officially born. With two releases throughout 2018 and 2019, Est-Her is now prepared to drop his first official EP, Empty Paradise, fully in 2021.
If there is anything that we have learned after watching this scene for some time now, it is that creativity can’t thrive in a world with minimal freedom. Est-Her learned this the hard way, but was luckily rewarded with runaway to explore his sound. With the help of Lorde’s producer Joel Little, Illangeleo and producer Craigie Dodds, Est-Her found the perfect sound that fits his personality and sets the stage for the rest of his career. Combining elements of indie pop and RnB, Est-Her creates a compelling narrative in “Streets to Nowhere” and showcases his vocal talents. Raw and powerful, we have no doubt in our mind that with a bit more notches in his belt Est-Her could be another Lewis Capaldi.
