2ND FEATURE

Brooklyn-based Rock Outfit Earthquake Lights Releases Jazzy Single “Pictures” ft. Lindsey Lomis

Let’s take a moment to state something real quick…we are loving the resurgence of older styles we are going through in the indie scene right now. On our latest peek into the world of alternative music we are checking out “Pictures”, the latest drop from Earthquake Lights. Earthquake Lights, a four-piece rock band based in NYC, formed during their college years and quickly gained success with their debut EP. The band’s music, known for its genre-blending and innovative sound, achieved notable placements in a national NBA/Tissot ad campaign and an Alex Gibney documentary. Critical acclaim and recognition on Spotify editorial playlists followed, as did the inclusion of their tracks in Isabel Sandoval’s award-winning film, Lingua Franca. Earthquake Lights’ versatility was further highlighted with a feature on Vulfpeck’s album, “The Joy of Music, The Job of Real Estate.” Their story is a testament to the transformative power of passion and collaboration, as they continue to make waves in the music industry with their unique and resonant sound.

“Maybe you only feel connected to that person because of how immediate the internet and pictures have seemed to make them. But seriously what even are these connections you have with other people on the internet? Just because you see a picture of them it doesn’t mean they’re actually important to your life.”

Earthquake Lights’ latest track, “Pictures” featuring Lindsey Lomis, really hits home as it delves into the emotional rollercoaster of social media and love. With its captivating melody and heartfelt lyrics, the song taps into the universal experience of longing and nostalgia in today’s digital age. Lomis‘ vocals carry a raw honesty, echoing the feelings of many who find themselves questioning their worth in a world dominated by fleeting online connections. “Pictures” isn’t just a song—it’s a mirror reflecting our complex relationship with technology and the profound impact it has on our sense of self and belonging. It’s a reminder to pause, reflect, and embrace the messy, beautiful reality of human connection amidst the noise of the digital world.
