Annabel Gutherz Delivers Sun-Soaked Single, “Summer’s Here”
We’ve been waiting for that next drop Annabel, we couldn’t kick off our summer without it. Officially debuting back in 2018, Annabel found the balance between current alternative pop and classic americana. Annabel introduced herself to the indie scene with her first philanthropic single “Legends”, where she donated all of the proceeds to support various charities in Montreal. After making her debut, she has spent the last few years honing her craft at Berklee College of Music and is now ready to re-introduce herself as a musician to the world. Today’s single is actually the first off her upcoming album which we should be hearing sometime later this year.
“I wrote this song in the sun-dappled days of June. It started with a simple melody and a looping chord progression—unassuming, but full of potential. I brought those chords into rehearsal and asked the band to play whatever the moment made them feel, without having heard the topline.”
Annabel Gutherz captures the golden essence of the season with her new single “Summer’s Here,” a dreamy, nostalgic track that pairs hazy guitars, airy vocals, and a laid-back groove to evoke the warmth and wistfulness of summer love. Described by Gutherz as a “sonic postcard,” the song is a heartfelt tribute to fleeting moments—salt-kissed skin, windblown beach days, and the kind of joy that lingers long after it ends.
Written during the early days of June, the track was born from a simple melody and chord progression that evolved organically in rehearsal. Gutherz encouraged her band to play freely, without hearing the vocals first, and the result was a magical, single-take recording that radiates authenticity and emotional spontaneity. “Summer’s Here” isn’t just a song—it’s a keepsake of a moment, perfectly preserving the tender, sun-drenched feeling of the season.
