Violinist and producer – Kozlow, Releases New Single “Cowboy Killers” on AFP Label
Grant Kozlow Gardner is a Brooklyn-based DJ, producer, and electronic violinist, as well as the founder of the acclaimed underground party series ANTHR FCKNG PARTY. A classically trained violinist who studied at Vanderbilt University, Kozlow has performed alongside electronic music heavyweights such as Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Cedric Gervais, and Alesso, and has DJ’d as direct support for artists including Diplo, John Summit, SG Lewis, and DJ Tennis. His performances often fuse live violin with electronic sets, creating a dynamic blend of classical musicianship and modern club energy.
As a producer, Kozlow has collaborated with prominent artists across genres, including Scott Storch, FunkFlex, King Von, and Burna Boy, showcasing his versatility and ability to merge melodic sophistication with contemporary rhythms. He holds monthly DJ residencies at New York venues Outer Heaven and Gospel, where he delivers immersive sets that combine indie house grooves with live violin improvisations. Through his music, events, and production work, Kozlow has established himself as a multifaceted artist who bridges classical training, electronic music, and underground nightlife culture.
“Cowboy Killers came together after I got back from Stagecoach Music Festival a few years ago. I had the greatest time at the festival and left wondering how I could fuse country / western themes with modern indie dance production. I was working on my laptop in my buddy’s backyard in Venice, CA, and this crow, who appears to live in my buddy’s backyard, was being pretty vocal with his thoughts on the record, and suddenly these three elements made perfect sense to me – the bird, the guitar, the groove. And of course, a silly vocal to bring the whole thing home.” – Kozlow
Brooklyn-based DJ, producer, violinist, and ANTHR FCKNG PARTY founder Kozlow drops his second single “Cowboy Killers”, following his underground debut “Untitled.” While known for weaving indie house grooves with raw creativity, this track takes a playful detour—melding funky basslines and four-on-the-floor rhythms with twangy guitar licks, cheeky vocal snippets, and even the sound of a crow recorded during a backyard session in Venice, CA. Sparked by inspiration from Stagecoach Festival, the single embodies Kozlow’s ability to turn unexpected moments into cinematic, club-ready soundscapes.
As with all ANTHR FCKNG PARTY releases, the music is paired with a strong visual identity. NYC film photographer Abi Polinsky, who serves as creative director for the label, crafts the artwork and poster design, bringing the same irreverent, analog grit to the visuals that Kozlow brings to the beats. Together, they transform each release into more than just music, building AFP into a hub where underground house culture, mischievous energy, and striking visuals collide.
