The Deathray Davies Drop “Talking With Friends” From 2021’s “Time Well Wasted”
Even after fifteen years out of the studio and one single in this tumutulous 2020, today’s artists still persevere. While diving back into the indie rock world we have “Talking With Friends”, the latest single from The Deathray Davies. Returning after a fifteen year hiatus, The Deathray Davies are back with a new suite of skills and sounds to release to the masses willing to listen. Not taking the decade long separation for granted, the members of The Deathray Davies have been incredibly busy exploring different avenues in the music world, learning as much as they can to enhance their sound. The ever busy John Dufilho continued to release records under his umbrella of acts including the punk rock CLIFFS, 60’s inematic pop Corner Suns, and indie folk group Cantina.
After what a chaotic year that 2020 has been, we are surprised we heard from The Deathray Davies once again. Officially our second taste from their Time Well Wasted release, “Talking With Friends” is a simple punk rock insprired track that explores the complicated idea of friendships…especially during this year. The track highlights the rock and roll identity that The Deathray Davies have crafted, even stripping it down to its foundations. The band even dropped a brand new music video that slots right alongside the track, composing of time lapsed footage at the local bar. Will The Deathray Davies be the ones to help inject the punk rock sound back into the mainstream? While they may have taken a break for the last fifteen years, the new album Time Well Wasted will drop in 2021!
