The Belfast-based Producer Trance Wax Presents a Blissful Trance Offering Alongside Liverpool’s Vocal Powerhouse Katy Alex
Garry McCartney, better known as Trance Wax, has redefined contemporary trance by fusing nostalgia with innovation. What began in 2016 as a remix project has evolved into a key force in the genre’s resurgence, earning accolades like a Radio 1 Essential Mix, sold-out vinyl runs, and collaborations with trance icons such as Ferry Corsten and Moya Brennan. His sophomore album, Open Up The Night, released via Armada Music, is a 16-track celebration of euphoric, club-driven energy, championed by artists like Romy (The xx) and Keinemusik. With a unique ethos rooted in authenticity, Trance Wax bridges underground credibility and mainstream appeal, contributing to trance’s newfound cultural relevance alongside names like Bicep and Tiësto.
Now entering a bold new chapter, McCartney has expanded Trance Wax into a live solo act, accompanied by Dan Tombs’ immersive visuals. This move, along with his vibrant DJ sets and impactful releases, reflects his drive to innovate within a genre he has loved since childhood. By unapologetically reshaping trance for modern audiences, McCartney not only celebrates its history but ensures its future as an emotionally resonant and evolving force in electronic music.
“‘Feel Your Love’ was a track that was made quite quickly one morning. I already loved Katy’s voice and she sent over some demos she’d made and this was one. I then jammed the main melody out over it and the rest came together very quickly. So happy how it sounds; it’s probably my favourite trance production I’ve made!”
Trance Wax makes his debut on Dreamstate Records with “Feel Your Love,” a stunning trance anthem featuring Liverpool’s acclaimed singer/songwriter Katy Alex, set for release on December 6th. Known for her captivating vocal delivery, Alex’s silky croons are the heart of the track, blending effortlessly with Trance Wax’s signature dreamy production.
