Tech-House Icon Loco Dice Returns With New Single and Turns Toward UK Grime on “Eyes On Me.” Out Now on Universal Music

Loco Dice has carved out a unique place in electronic music by blending the rhythmic sensibilities of his hip-hop background with house and techno. Born in Düsseldorf to Tunisian parents, he began his career as a DJ and rapper in the early 1990s, touring alongside artists such as Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube before transitioning into electronic music. Since breaking through with 2002’s “Phat Dope Shit,” Dice has remained a defining figure in dance music through acclaimed albums like 7 Dunham Place, Underground Sound Suicide, Love Letters, and Purple Jam, as well as collaborations with artists ranging from Skrillex and Fireboy DML to Carl Cox, Gué, and Haftbefehl.

Beyond his productions, Dice has built a global reputation as a DJ, performing everywhere from underground clubs to major festivals including Time Warp, Sunwaves, and Coachella, while holding iconic residencies at Ibiza institutions such as Circoloco and Space Miami. In 2007, he founded the influential Desolat label, later expanding his imprint portfolio with En Couleur and SB Recordings. His creative interests extend beyond music into gaming, television, and fashion through projects with brands like Daily Paper and New Era, along with his own clothing line, Seran Bendecidos, cementing his status as one of electronic music’s most versatile and boundary-pushing artists.

Loco Dice reconnects with his hip-hop roots on new single “Eyes On Me,” out via Universal Music. Blending chunky percussion, lean low end and sample-driven production with elements of contemporary UK urban and grime, the track is built squarely for adventurous, peak-time dancefloors. The direction traces back to Dice’s beginnings DJing and rapping in early-1990s Germany, where he opened for artists including Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube, making the hip-hop influence less of a stylistic departure and more of a return to his foundations. The connection was further highlighted in July when Dice shared the booth with Skepta at Hï Ibiza during the grime star’s Más Tiempo residency.

Following “Hold Up (You Feel That)” and his 2025 album “Purple Jam,” “Eyes On Me” continues an especially active period for Dice, coinciding with an extensive run of US and European tour dates. With Skepta’s blessing, the single brings together the hip-hop instincts of Dice’s early career with the club-focused sound he has spent decades refining.
