Serge Devant Launches New Label This Moment With Powerful Sequel “Solace” with Camille Safiya, Including Seth Troxler and Nick Morgan Remix
Serge Devant is a classically trained New York-based DJ and producer known for blending emotionally rich storytelling with deep, hypnotic grooves. After rising through the underground scene and early success on Ultra Records, a serious injury prompted a creative reset that led to his acclaimed comeback with “Fearing Love”—the debut release on Jamie Jones’s Emerald City label. The track became a global club anthem, earned Best Music Video honors, and was featured on HBO’s Industry. Serge’s long-standing presence in Ibiza’s scene, including residencies at Circoloco and DC-10, has cemented his status as a key figure in electronic music, especially as one of Crosstown Rebels’ top-selling artists over the past decade.
Now launching his own label, This Moment, Serge returns with “Solace”, a collaboration with Camille Safiya that acts as a powerful sequel to “Fearing Love”, continuing the emotional narrative a decade later. The release is complemented by a cinematic music video shot by Luc Besson’s Director of Photography, showcasing Serge’s unique fusion of sound and visual storytelling. A standout remix by Seth Troxler and Nick Morgan rounds out the project, marking the beginning of a new creative era for Devant under his independent imprint.
“This has been in motion for a while now. I’ve been quietly building something – a platform, a label, a brand. Not to chase a trend but to give music the space it deserves. This isn’t a label for hype. It’s a label for time, for quality, for storytelling – through music and film. It’s called ‘This Moment.‘
The first release is a record called ‘Solace’ with Camille Safiya, a continuation of a story that began over a decade ago with our single ‘Fearing Love.’ When we shot the video for ‘Fearing Love,’ it won a film festival – but more importantly, it lit something up in me. I realized how much I loved being involved in the full creative process: casting actors, choosing locations, working with the crew, and shaping the edit. It created a real connection between the music and the visual – a way to stay true to the soul of the track beyond just the sound.
I grew up on MTV and VH1, watching music videos that had weight and substance. These days that feels like a lost art. Building a world around music visually isn’t as common in the industry anymore – and wanting to change that. To bring that experience back in a way that felt real and intentional. With ‘Solace,’ I wanted to continue the story. I reached out to the same actors from ‘Fearing Love’ – ten years later – and they were all in. That was the sign to keep going. We brought back the same crew, and by that time, my Director of Photography – Tobias Deml, had become an established filmmaker – directing an HBO documentary and shooting Luc Besson‘s latest film (‘The Fifth Element,’ ‘The Professional’). With this dream team, I knew we could create something special.
I’m excited to finally share it with you – not just the music but the full video trilogy that brings this story to life. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.” – Serge Devant
A decade after the release of his emotional club anthem “Fearing Love,” Serge Devant returns with “Solace”—a cinematic, deeply personal sequel and the first release on his new label, This Moment. Reuniting with vocalist Camille Safiya, the track continues a trilogy of sound and story, blending hypnotic, progressive house rhythms with rich emotional depth. What makes “Solace” groundbreaking is its music video, which features the same actors from “Fearing Love” a decade later—a first in the electronic music world. The video, shot by Tobias Deml (Luc Besson’s Director of Photography), imagines a surreal reunion between two former lovers whose lives have diverged, yet whose connection still lingers in memory and fleeting moments.
“Solace” is not just a song—it’s a continuation of a visual and emotional narrative that spans years, bridging club culture with cinematic storytelling. Starring Eric Michael Cole and Christine Donlon, the video explores themes of memory loss, time, and unresolved love, set against a haunting after-hours encounter in a subway. The package is completed by a remix from Seth Troxler and Nick Morgan, which deepens the track’s late-night energy while preserving its storytelling essence. With “Solace,” Serge Devant establishes himself as a true innovator, crafting timeless art that connects music, emotion, and film like few others in the scene.
