Producer Tim Van Werd Drops 5th Protocol Single the Underground “Same Three Words”
Even if you have to take a step back for a moment to explore a new avenue, Protocol is ready for you to come back. On our latest visit to the Nicky Romero led label we were able to check out “Same Three Words”, the newest single from producer Tim Van Werd. Unlike many producers in similar positions, Van Werd’s love for music came through the lens of classical and jazz, showing interest in the drums, trumpet, and piano. This versatile interest in music heavily influenced his early sound, further pushing Van Werd to break the traditional rules of genre in music. Earning support early on in his career from the likes of Hardwell and Nicky Romero, Van Werd truly broke through the noise when he released his hit “Balkan Disco” which has now amassed over 4 million plays. Van Werd has followed up with multiple successful singles that have caught the eyes of many playmakers in the industry, with “Same Three Words” being his fifth release on Protocol.
As we continue to see in the latter half of 2020, Protocol is quickly becoming a home for producers that don’t play under traditional progressive house rules. While van Werd‘s sound does tiptoe on the progressive house line, his latest single “Same Three Words” takes a more underground approach to his version of house music. The track showcases van Werd’s versatile and dynamic style, blending a purely cinematic melody with a deep bassline and soulful vocals. A surreal and dark ambiance, the track almost creates an illusion that we are lost in an underground nightclub, dancing the night away. Vibrant and deep, we can’t wait for “Same Three Words” to push its way into our rotation, especially for our next Zoom nightclub session.
