Pop Chameleon Free Daggers Shares New Single “Bobby, Don’t Blink”
While everyone was isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to see a new wave of creatives finding their niches and running wild. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out “Bobby, Don’t Blink” the latest single from Free Daggers. Founded by musician Nic Hanson during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Free Daggers is a brand new alt-pop rock project from the East Coast of the US. The project trickled out onto the indie scene with their debut single “Young Love In America” last year, capturing the attention of indie fans and sowing oats for an active fanbase. Now with a sizeable amount of singles under their belt, Free Daggers is picking up momentum in the alternative scene and snagging the eyeballs of alternative tastemakers. With a passion for art, music, and visual design, Free Daggers have all of the puzzle pieces together to skyrocket their momentum forward, just need to figure out how it all fits together.

The independent world is an odd world to thrive in since you can pretty much explore any kind of avenue for your music and there will be a spot for it in the indie scene. “Bobby, Don’t Blink” is an interesting track, as it almost gives Free Daggers a chameleon effect when it comes to their sound. Combing elements of modern alternative dream-pop with influence from classic brit-pop, Free Daggers found an interesting combination that gives the illusion that their sound is a bit all over the place, but it works as a cohesive unit. While it might be a tad difficult to pin down their exact style, Free Daggers keeps it consistent and runs with it, finding the beauty in the mundane. Free Daggers will be an interesting project to keep en eye on to be sure, hopefully it will find the momentum to launch forward into the apex of the indie world.
