New Track Alert! Amba Shepherd’s 2nd Release “Wide Awake & Dreaming”
Alright Amba, let us make some room for you over on our playlist as we can’t wait to see what you have to offer. A rather prolific Australian singer-songwriter, Amba has been generously allowing use of her vocals in the electronic scene for some time now. She has worked with high profile acts such as Hardwell, Porter Robinson, and Paul Oakenfold just to name a few (and that doesn’t even dent the list). Amba has been an amazing inspiration for indie artists, as she as continued to support herself independently and has even created her own record label called Superrlativ. She has since completed two releases via Superrlativ, with today’s track “Wide Awake & Dreaming” taking its place as the second.
I do want to point out real quick that “Wide Awake & Dreaming” has been on repeat all morning, as I try to gather my thoughts. I normally have a different method, but Amba’s vocals are so beautiful that we can’t stop letting it fill the office. “Wide Awake & Dreaming” is fantastic, as it hooks you with its addictive melodies and it keeps you with its hypnotic beat. This isn’t too much of a surprise, as Amba teamed up with Dutch producer Tommy Rocks to co-write the track. Rocks’s style is clearly evident here, and we here think that they need to make more music together…and quick.
Be sure to listen to “Wide Awake and Dreaming” here:
