NEW PROTOCOL ALERT: Italian Producer Dr. Shiver Releases New Single “Something” Ft. Kazi
When we receive the goods from Protocol, we know that it has to be gold. Anyway, this week we are checking out the latest from Dr. Shiver, who brings us his latest track “Something” featuring Kazi. An incredibly new face to the Protocol family, Dr. Shiver, or known as Bruno Carlo Oggioni, is a talented producer hailing from the great Italia (Pastahhhh)! Unlike most musicians nowadays, Shiver wears many hats such as: sound engineer, producer, label manager, etc…the list goes on and on. Shiver also didn’t start out even interested in electronic music, with his musical roots in classical of all things. How does someone go from classical all the way to the other end of the spectrum to electronic music?
Enough background, let’s move on to the track. “Something” is a fantastic first outing for Dr. Shiver under the Protocol banner, as the track showcases his strengths of blending old and new influences together to make a rather nu-discotheque sound. This sound/theme is only added to the fact that Kazi’s vocal work blends some blues lounge feels into the track, just pushing the theme even more.
“This track really represents every one of my artistic sides, As a pianist and hammond player my origins are based in the blues, funky, soul and black music and in this tune you can really feel my musical background in every note, melody and chord progression.” – Dr. Shiver
