Nashville Indie Rock Trio Goldpark Share 2nd Single from Upcoming EP, “Covered in Sunshine”
Alright, we’ve been spending too much time in the world of electronics and we’re ready for something a bit more…alternative. On our latest peek into the alternative world we are checking out “Covered in Sunshine”, the latest single from Goldpark. Created by Nashville-based musicians Wes Hunter (vocals), Andrew Smith (guitar) and Kyle Neblett (drums), Goldpark is a relatively new trio that has been making waves in the indie world. After releasing their debut EP Goldpark One back in August 2021, Goldpark has been extremely busy over the last year with a mix of solo shows, support gigs, and festival slots all throughout their US tour. With “Covered in Sunshine” being Goldpark’s second single off of their sophomore EP, the band is ready to fully release their arena rock sound to the masses, especially those eager to listen.
’Covered in Sunshine’ is about the power of stepping outside. All of these problems, anxieties, and fears that have come from a reliance on technology feel a little less heavy when we step into the sunlight. That’s where we realize where ‘real life’ actually lives. Being a ‘part of life’ isn’t being fully connected at all times with the world around us through a viewfinder. It has definitely been a minute since we’ve had a solid dose of arena rock back in our lives and we just had to travel down to Nashville for it. With “Covered In Sunshine” being the band’s second single from their upcoming EP, we’re starting to see a much clearer picture of how Goldpark has developed and grown their sound since Goldpark One. With “Covered In Sunshine” being our introduction to the band, we’re excited to see how Goldpark isn’t afraid to explore sensitive subjects like anxiety and existential fears through a more upbeat and positive approach. While “Covered In Sunshine” could have lived on its own with just Andrew Smith’s guitar work, the inclusion of an elegant string arrangement to enhance the track’s beats was a top-tier choice. We are excited to hear the rest of the new EP and you know we will let you know when it drops in full!
