Multi-instrumentalist JVNA Announces Her Forthcoming EP “Violet Genesis” with Self-sung Cinematic New Melodic Bass Single “Gravity.” Out now
Born in Los Angeles to Taiwanese parents, JVNA is a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends cinematic electronic production, pop songwriting, and deeply personal storytelling. Classically trained on piano from the age of six, she later studied film and game scoring at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, shaping the sweeping, emotional sound that defines her work. Inspired by anime, gaming, and fantasy, she first gained attention through viral remixes and built a loyal community on Twitch, where fans helped crowdfund the video for “I’m With You,” a self-directed tribute to her late father.
Her 2021 debut album, Hope In Chaos, explored grief, resilience, and healing, while 2023’s Play With You pushed her sound into a darker, more commanding space centered on feminine empowerment and reclaiming personal strength. Across both projects, JVNA turns vulnerability into something expansive, creating a dreamlike world where emotional honesty, cinematic atmosphere, and dance-floor energy can exist side by side.

JVNA returns with “Gravity,” a melodic bass single that serves as the first taste of her forthcoming EP, Violet Genesis. Written and produced independently, “Gravity” also reflects the hands-on approach that has long defined her work, blending heavy sound design, ethereal textures, and the anime and video game score influences woven throughout her catalog.
Violet Genesis is positioned as a return to the hopeful, nostalgic sound that first introduced listeners to JVNA, but rebuilt with the stronger songwriting, vocals, and production she has developed over the years.
