Middle Eastern Producer NAZAAR Drops Personal and Meaningful Vocal Trap/Bass Single “WITH U”
When you have such a unique upbringing like today’s producer, you might be a bit more open to breaking genre norms. On our latest peek into the electronic pool we are checking out “WITH U”, the latest single from NAZAAR. Splitting his childhood between the United States and Pakistan, Farhan Zahir faced a crossroads…how could he incorporate his rich heritage while still moving forward with the current trend of modern dance music? With a slew of independent releases under his belt, NAZAAR has quickly caught the eyes of prominent tastemakers in the industry, including the likes of Carnage, Excision, RL Grime, Zomboy, and many more! NAZAAR has also made sure his music can reach every corner of the globe, with his work finding homes on Never Say Die, Space Yacht, Bassrush, and Columbia Records. While NAZAAR has made most of his success through his independent releases, he’s definitely incorporating himself deeper into the music industry.
“In February of 2020 I was in Los Angeles, trying to find my purpose within dance music. On one of these days during the trip, I found myself at Santa Monica beach at 2:00 AM with my laptop and headphones, recording the sounds of the beach. It was during that impromptu studio session that I started writing ‘WITH U.’ In that moment I felt so lost, not sure where I belonged, but writing music helped this confusion all go away. ‘WITH U‘ is a story about how feeling lost is a beautiful thing and how chasing the feeling of being yourself will always feel better than anything else. If it wasn’t for a calm night on the beach, I would’ve never realized that I could be whatever I wanted to become and do whatever I wanted to do.” – NAZAAR
The more we peel back layers in the bass music world, the more we are convinced of its limitless ability to serve as a vehicle for any type of sound, regardless of origin. “WITH U” is yet another example of this, as NAZAAR is able to incorporate ethereal and ambient elements akin to his roots within a packaged modern bass single. Behind the bass, the track explores one’s personal journey of finding purpose and uncovering your own self. NAZAAR began writing “WITH U” during a very low point in his life, where his surrender to the feeling of being lost can be found throughout the track. However, the single still has an overall positive vibe, even if you have to sort through the heavy bass and serrating synths to uncover it.
