MDLBEAST Grows! Afrojack & Black V Neck Join Tech-House Wave With New Single “To The Floor”
As clubs and nightlife start to reopen up, are we seeing the beginning of a new wave of tech-house? On our latest visit over to MDLBeast we are checking out “To The Floor”, the newest drop from Afrojack and Black V Neck. If for some reason Afrojack isn’t on your radar whatsoever, what the hell have you been listening to for the last decade? After he broke majorly onto the scene with his single “Take Over Control” with Eva Simmons, Afrojack has been a consistent playmaker and powerhouse in the modern EDM world. With numerous originals and remixes under his belt, Afrojack has achieved plenty of success over the last decade and is still a leader in this next wave of electronic music. He is a constant feature in the Top 10 of DJMag’s annual Top`100 DJs list as well as working with the likes of David Guetta, Timmy Trumpet, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Sia, Chris Brown, Pitbull, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Steve Aoki, Ty Dolla $ign, Luis Fonsi, and Rae Sremmurd among others.
As we find ourselves at the origin of another wave of tech-house music, why not have a talented veteran and aspiring up-and-coming duo throw their hat in the ring? Before we dive into the single, let’s circle back to 2010 when you couldn’t spend a single evening in the club without hearing Waka Flocka Flame and Roscoe Dash’s “No Hands”. Now a little over a decade later, Afrojack stepped into the production studio to tweak the formula for the modern dance scene. Completing melting away the track’s original hip hop roots, Afrojack and Black V Necks transformed “No Hands” into “To The Floor” with the help of minimalist bass and accompanying kickdrums to sell the experience. If Black V Necks continues to learn and grow with Afrojack and MDLBeast’s support, they will easily become ones to watch in the coming year.
