Madisyn Gifford Gives the “Prettiest Bitch” a New Makeover With New Official Visualizer

Even though we found ourselves vibing to this satirical single, now we have visuals to boot. On our latest dive into the indie world we are checking out the visualizer for “Prettiest Bitch”, the latest drop from Madisyn Gifford. She may have just broken onto the Vancouver indie scene last fall, she is quickly finding her home. Being adept at singing basically since she could talk, Madisyn has been on the path to embracing the life of a musician since she was able to fathom the concept. Now at a mere twenty years old, Madisyn has plenty to tell listeners, along with the skills to back it up. Releasing her debut single “Without You” back in late 2020, she has already amassed almost 200k online streams. After a very active and prosperous 2021, Madisyn is ready to take the rest of 2022 by the horns and make 2022 her year.

The Prettiest Bitch video was so fun to make and film! I basically wanted to play with the concept of the song and put myself under a spotlight while I sing along to the lyrics essentially allowing the song to call myself out. I’m proudly wearing a dress with a third place medal as the halter the same way I’m proudly owning up to so many of my own issues in the song and my hope was for it to be simultaneously funny and empowering. I was lucky enough to work with director Lindsey Blane again on this project! We played with a lot of the lyrics using props as well, and I think it really brings the song to life!” – Madisyn Gifford

“Prettiest Bitch” mixes self-deprecating humor with self-empowerment, allowing Gifford the chance to truly play with her identity as an artist and singer.  The song is about wanting to be loved despite one’s flaws and imperfections, all translated through the lens of light and bubbly alt-pop. Gifford balances both comedy and genuine feelings, thus strengthening her overall satirical approach to the track. I mean, who doesn’t want to be the “Prettiest Bitch” in the room? Now Gifford’s concept of the “Prettiest Bitch” grows with the addition of an official visualizer, that just radiates with personality. The visualizer, while on the more simplistic side, completely resonates with the original single and matches the vibe almost perfectly.
