Krewella Smashs Dance-Pop x Drum & Bass in Heavy Single “I’m Just A Monster Underneath, My Darling”
Sometimes when you spend all of your time in the light, you want to spend just a bit more time on the dark side. On our latest visit over to Mixed Kids Records we are checking out “I’m Just A Monster Underneath, My Darling”, the latest single from Krewella. Bursting immediately onto the scene all the way back in 2012, Krewella appeared out of nowhere with their debut Party Hard album. The album, which now has over 130 million streams, is home to their now-certified platinum single “Alive” that has served as an introduction for many to the Krewella sound. These sisters have continued to explode since, with major hits like “Live For the Night” and “Enjoy the Ride”. Fun fact, Krewella has even nailed a coveted spot on Forbes “30 under 30” list. Makes multiple international tours seem a bit dull in comparison.

Krewella has been an interesting duo/group to watch over the years, as it feels like they go through periods in their music where their music truly doesn’t sound anything like their original sound. Which is a good thing mind you, we don’t want any producer or creative individual to stay with their original style for too long and grow stagnant. “I’m Just A Monster Underneath, My Darling” may be a wordy as all hell track title, but this single is an interesting addition to the Krewella catalog. Featuring a blend of dance-pop with drum & bass, this single takes Krewella to an almost tribal/jungle destination far away from the bright lights that they are accustomed to. The single hits hard and fast, while at the same time being emotive and uplifting…a solid amalgamation to fit in with the Krewella style. “I’m Just A Monster Underneath, My Darling” will be featured on Krewella’s upcoming album, The Body Never Lies, which will drop in full on March 4th.
