While everyone is stuck at home, aiming to stay in good health, creatives are stepping into their creative spaces and crafting entertainment for the masses. This week we are taking a break over at Arkade for “Chains”, the latest from Kaskad and Project 46. One of our original entries into the electronic music world, Kaskade has been a household name for just a meager two decades. Kaskade’s storied career has gained him plenty of accolades such as seven grammy nominations, 11 studio albums, first DJ to earn a Vegas residency and the first to headline Coachella. Yeah, Kaskade has made quite a significant mark on the electronic community. Definitely not slowing down in 2020, Kaskade continues to bring new listeners into the electric web.
Initially active back in 2011, Canadian duo Ryan Henderson and Thomas Shaw joined forces as Project 46 and uplifted their listeners to look to a brighter future with their melodic tone. Up until 2016, Project 46 was incredibly busy and popular with releases on Ultra Records, Monstercat, Armada, and Mixmash as well as collabs with Avicii, Kaskade, and Paul Oakenfold to name a few. Now, four years after their initial hiatus, Project 46 returns to provide audiences with a flair of golden progressive house.
Both household names within the electronic music community, a collaboration between producers of this magnitude is of epic proportions. Both producers come to the table with their own styles and sounds, yet they could find the middle round to create this brand new track. An audible experience through the spectrum of emotion, “Chains” is an almost lethargic journey and analysis of how we react to the world’s current state. The track relates to those who feel lost and suffocated by their circumstances, yearning for an escape into a simple and gentle melody. “Chains” begs you to release your own chains by the time of the drop, letting you be free to embrace life with a new meaning.
