Explore This Audible Dreamscape With Olivia Morreale In New Pop-Fusion EP “Space Dreams”
After what feels like ages in the making, Olivia Morreale is finally here and taking us on a ride. On our latest dive into the indie world we are checking out Space Dreams, the newest EP from the talented Olivia Morreale. Dabbling in singing and piano from an early age, Olivia grew up in a music-friendly household that helped grow her creativity as a musician. Surrounded by jazz greats such as Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra, these artists helped create the foundation for her love of jazz, which further blossomed once Olivia moved to New York City for high school. Finally migrating over to Los Angeles to pursue an education at USC, Olivia fell in love with songwriting and quickly began developing her own sound. Blending her jazz background with the west coast indie pop of LA, Olivia created her own version of synth-pop, chillwave, and soul.
“The overarching theme of dreams allowed us to explore through music those deeper subconscious thoughts that are sometimes difficult to address in everyday life and to create a space for exploration and imagination,” – Olivia Morreale
While we have heard more of Space Dreams already through a solid release schedule of singles, we can already say that the EP is a fun adventure through and through. While we here hooked onto the project after her previous single “PARASOMNIA“, the new track “MATTER OF TIME” completely sells us on this dreamy soundscape that Olivia crafted. Created in close collaboration with fellow musician and producer Eli Koskoff, Space Dreams feels like a soothing amalgamation of older sounds like jazz and more modern beats of electropop. The EP mirrors this audible soundscape through its lyrics, exploring the idea that escapism can be best utilized through someone’s dreams and the quieter moments in life. If you want an intriguing look at Olivia’s version on modern electropop then Space Dreams is a must play.
