Habstrakt Follows Up Monstercat Debut With the Ominous & Mechanical "The One"

When a label invites you back to drop another single on their imprint, you know that your first struck a chord. We are taking a slight detour over to Monstercat for “The One”, the latest single from Habstract and his first official music video. Habstrackt began his road to music originally as a guitar and keys player, before discovering dubstep and drum ‘n’ bass in 2008. While these genres were his initial love, he began to grow as he explored more of what electronic music had to offer.

Habrstrakt’s style has grown and evolved, with now a more modern French urban sound mixed with the roots of his first love. Habstrakt has been incredibly busy throughout 2019, with multiple releases on Monstercat, Tiesto’s Musical Freedom, Spinnin’ Records, as well as a recent debut on SLANDER & NGHTMRE‘s Gud Vibrations.

“I’ve been holding onto this one for a while, worked and reworked it a thousand times, and I’m so excited to finally release it. The moment I heard these vocals from Pauline Herr, I knew something huge was going to happen!” – Habstrakt

After hitting relative gold with your first debut on a massive imprint, it might just be a tad difficult to score with a follow-up. However, we have already bitten the hook and fell sinker to the delicious bait that is “The One”. The track oozes pure electro energy as Habstrakt now has full control over his decadent beats. While the kick-drum leads the pack with a driving bassline quickly following behind, the distorted vocal track is what adds the final touch that we felt it could have been missing. “The One” definitely slaps, and we can’t wait until it exists absolutely everywhere.  With the positive feedback already coming in, “The One” may be the track to cement Habstract’s place in the Monstercat den.
