DØBER Further Expands His Horizons and Teases New EP With New Crossover Single “Somebody”
While producers who we have been following for quite some time now have a staple sound for use to migrate towards, we are thrilled when they step out of their box to try something else. On our latest visit over to Protocol we are checking out “Somebody”, the latest single from DØBER. Now that DØBER found his place in the roster, there are plenty of other producers and artists ready and waiting for this tech-house newcomer. For those of you unfamiliar with the works of DØBER, you definitely have a long list to catch up on. Drawing plenty of inspiration from artists such as Dogblood, ZHU and Gesaffelstein, DØBER is an incredibly talented producer that drives the hard-hitting side of Protocol forward. Since making his 2020’s debut “Twisted” EP, DØBER has quickly become one of the leading artists in Protocol’s roster.
While we normally know what we are getting when we hit play on a DØBER track, this time DØBER is back to crush that pre-conceived notion. With DØBER adding “Somebody” to his catalog, fans like us are ready to take apart anything that comes out of his camp. We normally expect DØBER to take us deep into the underground club, or to serve as the soundtrack to our night out, but this time “Somebody” feels more like a breathe of fresh air. Opening with a beautiful piano medley, DØBER surprises us with groovy basslines and a soulful vocal sample that throws us into the dance-pop crossover section of our brain. A feel-good single with a tinge of disco music thrown into the mix? We are all for this next direction that DØBER is taking, Feel free to explore sirs!
