Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Turn R3HAB’s Hit “All Around The World” with A Touch Of Class Into Sinister Festival Anthem
There is always an artist or duo that randomly pops up at the same time every year, prepared to set the tone for the time while they are gone. On our latest visit over to Universal Music we are checking out a brand new remix of R3hab’s “Around the World” from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Having dove deep into the world of professional music back in 2007, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike were making waves almost right out of the gate. Snagging major collaborations with powerhouses like Neo, Diplo, David Guetta, and even film composer Hans Zimmer early on in their career, Dimitri & Mike made themselves known and have racked up millions upon millions of streams online. Dimitri & Mike put on absolutely killer live shows at major venues such as Tomorrowland, EXIT festival, Creamfields, EDC Las Vegas, and many more!
R3HAB has toured some of the best clubs in the world and amassed more than 300 million streams of his debut album. What is actually amazing however is that R3HAB was able to accomplish this with no major label backing, only working through his CYB3RPVNK imprint. Through his expanded efforts to increase CYB3RPVNK’s roster, R3HAB has been recruiting a fantastic variety of up-and-comers to provide a major range of music to his audience. With R3HAB consistently popping up on our radar, we have absolutely no idea what he is going to do next and can’t wait.
With so many renditions of this dance classic from A Touch of Class, you’d think we’d be bored out of our minds after hearing another version again. While initially we might have agreed with that assumption, Dimitri & Mike dropping their rendition toes the line between paying homage and making it just different enough to stand out. With the original’s fundamental core still intact, the duo take their festival /main stage approach and transform the track to better conform with the darker nature of the original. Now leading with a four-on-the-floor and driving bass line, Dimitri & Mike add another layer of intrigue to R3hab’s most streamed single in his entire catalog. We hope Dimitri & Mike absolutely tear up 2023, because we need more than an annual visit.
