BK and Knuckleheadz Join Forces For New Single “Turn That Fuckin’ Music Up”, a Dark Club-Driven Collab via Dreamstate Records
Ben Keen, aka BK, is a legendary figure in dance music and a pioneer of the Hard House sound, whose career spans decades of innovation and influence. From his early days at London’s Carnaby Street Studios to his iconic residency at the Trade club, BK has consistently pushed the boundaries of electronic music. With chart-topping hits like Music Is Moving and Revolution, he has become known for blending trance and Techno elements into a signature style that has earned acclaim from both fans and critics worldwide.
In 2024, BK continues to lead the scene with high-energy releases on labels such as DOOF, Armada, and Speedmaster, including an eagerly awaited remix of Warrior slated for September. His collaborations with artists like Hannah Laing, Reinier Zonneveld, Ammara, Funktribu, and Matty Ralph highlight his versatility and enduring relevance. As his extensive back catalogue continues to resonate globally, BK’s influence on the dance music landscape remains unmistakable, solidifying his status as one of the genre’s most iconic and enduring figures.
Knuckleheadz have been at the forefront of Hard House music since 1997, known for their funky, chunky, bass-driven sound that has captivated clubbers worldwide. Originally a duo, Jon Langford and Warren Clarke met DJing in Bournemouth, UK, and quickly made their mark with their debut release on Tripoli Trax, House Rocca / Turn That Fucking Music Up, which sold nearly 10,000 copies and earned House Rocca the title of Tony De Vit’s Tune of 1997. Following hits like Raise Your Hands and a string of remixes for artists including Sandy B, NRG, Bulletproof, and DJ Quicksilver, Knuckleheadz became a staple on major compilations such as Pete Tong’s Essential Selection Clubbers Bible, Extreme Euphoria, and Ministry of Sound Hard House Classics, as well as labels like Tidy Trax, Nukleuz, and Tripoli Trax.
Since 2001, Jon Langford has carried Knuckleheadz forward as a solo project, continuing to release music for Tripoli Trax and remixing for artists such as Kylie, BK, and Andy Farley. With over 30 years of DJing experience, Knuckleheadz have held residencies across Australia and Hong Kong, toured extensively across Japan, North America, and Europe, and appeared at some of the UK and Ireland’s most prestigious events, including Trade, Tidy Weekenders, Sundissential, and Insomniacz. More recently, they have continued to push their signature bassline-throbbing, stabtastic Hard House at events like Kinky Trade (EGG LDN), Trade Orange, 90s Fest, and Poole Harbour Festival, proving that their energetic and distinctive sound remains as vital and influential today as it has for over 25 years.
BK and Knuckleheadz reunite for their latest hard house collaboration, Turn That Fuckin’ Music Up, releasing on Dreamstate Records on January 23rd. Drawing on years of experience and a shared history in the scene, the track is a high-energy, floor-filling club anthem designed for both clubs and festivals. Following their previous collaborations, Shining (2014) and Fire Burning (2015), BK and Knuckleheadz channel their longstanding chemistry into a production that fuses relentless basslines, murky acid arpeggios, discordant chord stabs, and a driving vocal loop for maximum impact.
From the opening beat, the track builds with methodical intensity, stacking tension and energy until it reaches a climactic, adrenaline-charged crescendo. Every element is dialed in for propulsion, creating a hard-edged, forward-charging rhythm that exemplifies both artists’ mastery of the hard house sound. Turn That Fuckin’ Music Up solidifies BK and Knuckleheadz as enduring forces in the genre, delivering a track that thrills longtime fans while introducing new audiences to their signature high-octane style.
