AUTOGRAMM Announce Spanish Tour Dates With Vinyl Single “Randy” b/w Diodes Cover “Jenny’s In A Sleep World”
Autogramm, a band deeply embedded in the art, punk, and skateboarding scenes worldwide, has left their mark on stages across North America and Europe, including notable venues like London’s Lexington, Berlin’s Wild At Heart, and San Francisco’s Bottom of the Hill. Their music has gained recognition in international press and radio, with their album “No Rules” reaching #3 on CBC Radio 3 and charting for five months in college radio in the US and Canada. Comprising members with diverse musical backgrounds, Autogramm’s latest album, “Music That Humans Can Play,” recorded during a sweltering heatwave in Vancouver, offers a genre-blending musical experience that appeals to a wide range of listeners, from dedicated record store connoisseurs to garage rock enthusiasts and synth-pop aficionados, showcasing their enduring passion for their artistic influences.
Autogramm, the synth-driven power-pop trio spanning Seattle, Chicago, and Vancouver, continues their streak of infectious new wave anthems with the release of their latest seven-inch single on Dirt Cult Records and Germany’s Goodwill Records. The release showcases their signature fusion of punk energy and glossy synth-pop sheen, pairing their newest track, “Randy,” with a reimagined version of the 1979 cult classic “Jenny’s In A Sleep World” by Toronto’s punk legends The Diodes. Notably, The Diodes themselves have embraced Autogramm’s fresh, synthesizer-infused take on their original song, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the band’s nostalgic yet forward-thinking aesthetic.
“Randy” was originally meant to be part of the band’s most recent album, Music That Humans Can Play, but the track took an unexpected detour when its lyrical inspiration became outdated. True to their offbeat sensibilities, the band—self-proclaimed “cat people”—opted to rewrite the lyrics in tribute to their drummer’s feline companion, transforming the song into a quirky, confidence-boosting anthem.
Autogramm’s upcoming Spanish tour will not only showcase their high-energy live performances but will also serve as a celebration of their latest full-length album, Music That Humans Can Play. Released on both vinyl and digital formats worldwide via Stomp Records (with Beluga Records handling distribution in the EU), the album has already received widespread acclaim, catching the attention of international music publications such as Paste, Exclaim!, Under the Radar, Goldmine, Austin Town Hall, Visions (DE), Musik Express (DE), Happy Mag (AU), and Rock ‘n’ Roll Army (ES). This broad recognition speaks to the band’s ability to tap into a universal nostalgia while still keeping their sound fresh and relevant for modern audiences.
