Alex Little Previews Upcoming EP Spider in the Sink With Gritty New Single “Sounds Like a Deal”
Alex Little bursts onto the scene with “Sounds Like A Deal,” the first single from her upcoming EP Spider in the Sink. A Vancouver native, Little grew up surrounded by a mix of punk shows and her parents’ eclectic record collection—The Replacements, Bowie, The Beatles, Iggy Pop—and those early influences shaped her fearless approach to music. She started out behind the drum kit in high school punk bands before stepping to the front of the stage as a singer and songwriter. Now, as a solo artist, she’s crafting songs that are raw, melodic, and lived-in, drawing on years of performing, listening, and observing the world around her.
The new single was sparked by Little’s reaction to a documentary on The Jerry Springer Show, which left her shocked by the exploitation on display. That sense of urgency drives the track, turning outrage into a fiery rock anthem. With guitarist and partner Adam Sabla translating her ideas into tight arrangements, and the rhythm section of Tony Dallas on drums and Hayz Fisher on bass providing punch and drive, the song balances wiry garage-rock riffs with a hint of new-wave shimmer. Produced by James Younger of Yukon Blonde, it captures the energy, grit, and sharp-eyed honesty that have made Little a standout voice in Vancouver’s underground rock scene.
Spider in the Sink expands on these themes, exploring fear, media manipulation, and the slow rebuilding of the self. “Sounds Like A Deal” sets the tone, pairing gutsy vocals with keen observation and melody with grit, while reflecting on both personal experiences and broader cultural critiques. It’s the clearest statement yet from a drummer-turned-front-person whose voice insists on being heard, delivering songs that are as immediate as they are lasting, and positioning Alex Little as a bold new force in rock.
