THEKOIWAY Release “El Juego de la Vida (The Game of Life)” Addressing LGBTQ+ Themes
THEKOIWAY is a global fusion band led by Chilean multi-instrumentalist and producer Victor Vildósola, blending Latin-American culture with worldwide sounds. Their music is a seamless mix of soul, R&B, hip-hop, funk, Andean folk, and traditional Latin influences, resulting in a rich, boundary-defying sound. Rooted in social consciousness, THEKOIWAY’s lyrics explore themes of diversity, identity, and shared human struggles, aiming to inspire reflection and foster unity. Drawing from Vildósola’s experiences in Santiago, Mexico City, and Brooklyn, the band’s sound reflects a dynamic fusion of cultures and genres, creating music that feels both deeply personal and globally resonant.

THEKOIWAY’s new music video, “El Juego de la Vida (The Game of Life),” explores themes of diversity and the complexities of everyday life, boldly addressing LGBTQ+ issues through powerful storytelling. Featuring legendary Chilean actor Héctor Noguera, the video challenges societal norms and questions how we confront oppression in a world resistant to change. Released alongside a maxi-single with an English version of the song and remixes by New York producers Dough Juan and Jerumatic, the project extends its impact by blending cultural awareness with cutting-edge musical production. Funded by the National Music Development Fund (2023-2024), the video stands as both a creative achievement and a call to action for greater inclusivity.
The single features collaborations with Chilean hip-hop icon Juan Sativo and soul vocalist Vanesa Valdez, alongside international musicians who contribute to its expansive yet deeply personal soundscape. Known for their immersive live performances, THEKOIWAY combines music with theatrical elements and choreography by Tumi Vil Nkomo, creating a multisensory celebration of diversity and artistic expression. Through “El Juego de la Vida,” THEKOIWAY reaffirms their mission to challenge norms and uplift marginalized voices, using their art to spark reflection and inspire change.
