Talented Artist Julian Lamadrid Drops New Grandiose Single “The Neon God”, 2nd Album Out Soon!
While some say that your circumstances are set at birth, anyone can take their own path. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out “The Neon God”, the latest single from Julian Lamadrid. A Mexican musician and multi-instrumentalist, Lamadrid has truly taken his own life journey in order to create the music he wanted to create. Originally born in Dubai, Lamadrid fought against the city’s overwhelming amount of excess and material gains. Discovering his love for music through the likes of Iggy Pop and Freddy Mercury, Lamadrid needed to escape Dubai’s suffocating excess and uncover a true sandbox for him to develop his own style. After moving to NYC and studying film at NYU, Lamadrid landed a record deal with Arista Records in 2019 and released his first album Mala Noche later that year. Since then, Lamadrid has caught the eye of many tastemakers like V, Wonderland, CLASH, Flaunt, L’Officiel, and Billboard to name a few…leading to where we are now. His sophomore album, Rebels of the Neon God, is on the horizon.

With such a wide range of influences and an even more unique background, we honestly didn’t have a clear idea of Julian’s musical style when he first ended up in our inbox. We are definitely not disappointed. While “The Neon God” has a rather minimal start, the single quickly builds into an almost grandiose celebration of personal experiences. While it could be a bit difficult to pinpoint exactly where Lamadrid falls on the genre spectrum, we would say he straddles a unique combination of brit rock and new wave, as well as a sprinkle of modern bedroom pop. While the style might seem all over the place for many, just take one step forward and open yourself to welcome the fusion, welcome “The Neon God”. “The Neon God” is actually the final single from his sophomore album Rebels of the Neon God, which you can definitely expect us to cover when it drops on 11/15.
