Sylvaner Channels Chicago House Influences On Brooding New Release “Plastic Love”
Las Vegas–born Sylvaner grew up in a house where music was always within arm’s reach. With parents who loved everything and a dad who ran record stores, he spent his childhood flipping through whatever vinyl showed up that week, discovering new worlds one album at a time. Music became his first language—his favorite way to share something real with the people around him. “Sharing a good song has always been a huge form of communication for me,” he says, and that instinct slowly pushed him from working behind the boards to figuring out what his own sound might be.
About three years ago, while engineering full-time, he realized his creativity was pulling him somewhere new. He started experimenting every day, bouncing between the studio and his bedroom, following ideas just to see where they led. Little by little, those small moments of curiosity turned into the foundation of his debut project—a collection shaped by the years he spent listening, learning, and finally giving himself permission to step forward as an artist.
“Plastic Love” finds Sylvaner stepping into darker, more dance-driven territory, transforming what began as a brooding, Chicago house-inspired demo into a pulsing late-night anthem. Originally imagined as something distant and atmospheric — “like you were in the bathroom while the club was going on outside” — the track was reworked after he realized his album needed something with real movement. The result is a groove-forward cut built on a steady four-on-the-floor beat, elastic basslines, shimmering synth layers, and airy, intimate vocals that balance club energy with emotional tension.
Lyrically, the song centers on the idea of wanting connection without commitment. “I need a plastic love” becomes both a confession and a thesis — a reflection on choosing fun and detachment over depth, a mindset shaped in part by growing up in Las Vegas. While seductive and euphoric on the surface, the track acknowledges the tradeoff beneath it all: the quiet emptiness that comes with keeping love disposable.
