Singer Kat Saul Tells You To Take the Leap For Love in New Single “Alright”
The more we cover the world of indie pop, the concept of love’s influence on the genre grows evidently clearer. This week while combing through our inbox we have “Alright”, the latest single from Kat Saul. Hailing from Nashville but working hard out of the city of angels, Kat Saul burst onto the scene just last year yet her sound feels carefully crafted and evolved. An artist who could always thrive in her own slice of happiness, Kat was the fun cheerleader who also played guitar in her local rock band. Never one to be held back by genre borders, Kat would bump Top 40 in her car while on her way to a pop-punk concert. This idealogy is clear in her debut EP From Unit 408, which features tracks flowing in out of styles with ease and one mission in mind…for you to move those meat sacks of yours and dance along.
“To me, one of the scariest challenges of becoming a sort-of-grown-up is getting out of my comfort zone. When my anxiety and depression swoop in like this dark cloud over my head, it’s easy to isolate myself from other people, closing off and taking shelter until the storm passes, but it never really does. And there comes a point where you have to decide whether to break down those walls or to let people inside them. It can be incredibly challenging, especially romantically… but when has easy ever been rewarding, you know? Love, risk and growth are what make life beautiful and worth living.” – Kat Saul
While we may not be as familiar with Kat Saul as we would like, her music has an odd aura around it that keeps pulling us back in. Her latest single, “Alright”, describes that feeling of finally accepting your feelings for someone and taking that leap, regardless of the consequences that may be waiting. The track embodies the Kat Saul electro-inspired pop style that we have come to know, giving the overused concept a dose of bubbly personality behind the lyrics and the beats. “Alright” is the latest single off of Kat’s upcoming EP, giving us another look into what the EP will sound like upon release. Stay tuned for the official announcement of Kat’s next EP which will be officially dropping later this year.
