Power Pop Rockers Autogramm Tease Upcoming LP With Captivating New Single “WannaBe”
Every week we aim to have at least one artist that is completely fresh to us in order to constantly promote music discovery…and this week is an intriguing one. On our latest visit to Stomp Records we are checking out “WannaBe”, the latest from Autogramm. Autogramm, a band deeply embedded in the art, punk, and skateboarding scenes worldwide, has left their mark on stages across North America and Europe, including notable venues like London’s Lexington, Berlin’s Wild At Heart, and San Francisco’s Bottom of the Hill. Their music has gained recognition in international press and radio, with their album “No Rules” reaching #3 on CBC Radio 3 and charting for five months in college radio in the US and Canada. Comprising members with diverse musical backgrounds, Autogramm’s latest album, “Music That Humans Can Play,” recorded during a sweltering heatwave in Vancouver, offers a genre-blending musical experience that appeals to a wide range of listeners, from dedicated record store connoisseurs to garage rock enthusiasts and synth-pop aficionados, showcasing their enduring passion for their artistic influences.
Autogramm, a synth-driven power-pop trio hailing from Seattle, Chicago, and Vancouver, is gearing up to release their highly anticipated LP titled “Music That Humans Can Play.” This marks their return after a two-year hiatus, and the album is set for a global release on November 17th through Stomp Records and Beluga Records EU. Drawing inspiration from iconic acts such as The Cars, The Go-Go’s, Gary Numan, 20/20, and Devo, Autogramm continues their tradition of crafting new wave-infused power-pop gems. Their forthcoming album promises to be a nostalgic journey into the 80s, with meticulously crafted songs that could easily find a place in the soundtrack of classic films like “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”
Accompanying this exciting LP announcement, Autogramm has unveiled an advance single, “WannaBe,” along with a visually captivating music video. Directed by Jeffry Lee in East Vancouver, the video employs green screen technology to create a digital static backdrop, allowing the band’s live performance to shine in true 80s fashion. With their infectious sound and innovative visuals, Autogramm is poised to bring a fresh wave of synth-powered magic to both long-time fans and newcomers alike when “Music That Humans Can Play” drops on November 17th.
