Pioneers of Cinematic House Music – Klangkarussell, Release First Album in Over Decade – “Petrichor,” Journey Through Euphoria and Introspection
For more than a decade, Austrian duo Klangkarussell — Adrian Held and Tobias Rieser — have been shaping the sound of modern electronic music with their emotionally charged and genre-blending style. Bursting onto the scene with their global hit “Sonnentanz (Sun Don’t Shine),” they helped pioneer the tropical house movement, fusing organic instrumentation with deep grooves and cinematic melodies. With over 2 billion streams to their name, their music has always balanced heartfelt emotion with dancefloor energy — the kind that feels equally at home at sunrise or under festival lights.
Since founding their own label, Bias Beach Records, in 2019, Klangkarussell have embraced a new era of creative freedom, releasing tracks like “Ghostkeeper,” “Shipwreck,” “Home,” “Afterglow,” and “Let Me Come To Life,” which together have surpassed 400 million streams. Their lush sound design and instinct for melody have made them a staple on stages from Lollapalooza Berlin to Ultra Miami, and in 2024 they joined Kygo’s World Tour across Europe. Now closing out 2025, the duo continue to evolve without losing the emotional pulse that’s always defined them — music that makes you feel deeply and move instinctively, all at once.
“We wanted this album to feel like a journey through our world – the highs, the struggles, the quiet moments, the big ones. ‘Petrichor‘ is about renewal, about finding beauty in change, just like the smell of rain after a storm.” – Klangkarussell
More than ten years after their breakout debut “Netzwerk,” Austrian duo Klangkarussell return with their long-awaited second album, “Petrichor,” out November 7 via their own label, Bias Beach Records. The record finds the duo — Adrian Held and Tobias Rieser — diving deeper into emotion and storytelling, weaving themes of resilience, family, love, and self-discovery across 13 tracks. Balancing cinematic grandeur with dancefloor euphoria, “Petrichor” captures both the pulse of the club and the intimacy of reflection.
Highlights include “Truth Begins” (with Blazey), a hypnotic and cathartic opener accompanied by a striking video featuring Olympic gold medalist Anna Gasser, and “Ride,” a neon-soaked throwback to 80s disco filtered through Klangkarussell’s sleek production. Collaborations with Bloom Twins, GIVVEN, Elmar, Marieme, and others add emotional range and texture, from the wartime poignancy of “Cross The Border” to the sunset-ready “Sun Went Down, Sky Went Dark.” More than a follow-up, “Petrichor” marks a bold evolution for the duo — a testament to their growth, independence, and continued ability to make electronic music that moves both heart and body.
