Not Finished With Each Other Yet, Steve Aoki, Nicky Romero, and Kiiara Team Up For New Collab "Be Somebody"
While we were pleasantly surprised with their remix bundle two weeks ago, but this is what we were actually looking forward to. Fueling our work week madness we have “Be Somebody”, the latest powerhouse collaboration between Nicky Romero and Steve Aoki. As we mentioned before, Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, he is constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. We are glad to see that Romero is back in the producing chair, as the modern industry still needs a bit more of his influence.
When two distinctively different artists come together for a brilliant collaboration, the result isn’t always pretty. However, these two are masters at their craft and they better be as they run two of the most prolific imprints in today’s industry with Romero at Protocol and Aoki at Dim Mak. While anyone who has listened to these two powerhouses before knows, they have incredibly different styles that exist on different ends of the spectrum. However, Romero and Aoki are able to blend them together to create “Be Somebody”, who grabs the listener with its funky bassline and addictive electro melody. Aoki and Romero don’t deserve all of the credit though, as talented artist Kiiara’s supreme vocal work is what entrances us from beginning to end.
