Natalie Shay Confronts Betrayal on New Single “sorry for u”

Natalie Shay is a rising star in the UK indie-pop music scene, known for her explosive live performances and heartfelt songwriting. She has performed at major festivals like SXSW, The Great Escape, Reading, Latitude, and Victorious, captivating audiences worldwide. Starting her musical journey at five and honing her skills at the prestigious BRIT School, Natalie’s passion and talent have always been evident. Her songs, ranging from infectious heartbreak anthems to upbeat tracks about love and friendship, resonate deeply with listeners, often addressing themes like mental health and anxiety.

With over 10 million streams on Spotify and strong support from platforms like BBC Radio 1 and critical acclaim from Billboard, Wonderland, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, Notion, and 1883 Magazine, Natalie Shay is making significant waves in the music industry. Her candid and relatable lyrics, combined with her dynamic stage presence, mark her as an artist to watch in the indie-pop genre.

“I bookend eras of my life with bodies of work, so it was important to me that ATMOSPHERE contained all the experiences and lessons since my last EP. I want my music to be the soundtrack to my life as a mid-twenties creative who feels everything deeply. I crave love, but I’ve also been damaged by it.”

North London-born Natalie Shay is a multi-award-winning BRIT School graduate and indie-pop songwriter whose music captures the full spectrum of feeling — from love and self-discovery to the messy realities of life in your twenties. Writing and playing guitar since childhood, she blends heartfelt honesty with bright, feel-good energy, creating songs that act as both personal confession and universal soundtrack. Her upcoming EP, ATMOSPHERE, serves as a sonic diary, exploring the magnetic pull of new love, self-awareness, and the complicated emotional terrain in between.

The title track, co-written with long-time collaborator Kaity Rae, questions whether the connections that keep us hooked are genuine love or just fleeting chemistry, while other songs, like the defiant indie-pop anthem “sorry for u,” channel frustration and empowerment after being let down by someone she trusted. Written over two years of collaboration and late-night solo sessions, the EP gathers the songs she couldn’t leave behind, each reflecting a chapter of her life. Through ATMOSPHERE, Natalie invites listeners into an intimate, emotionally resonant world, balancing vulnerability with infectious melodies that make her confessions feel both personal and universal.

This April, Natalie Shay will perform her biggest headline to date at Oslo, London, as well as her first ever regional headline in Manchester. Ticket links below!
