Matt Hawk Challenges Listeners with “SKELETON” To Add To His Low-Tempo, Urban/EDM “Car Music” Repertoire. Out Now on OneHundred

We’ve taken a bit of a break form the world of low-tempo, so we why not come back in style. On our latest visit from OneHundrer we are checking out “SKELETON”, the latest drop from Matt Hawk. Matt Hawk, a 33-year-old art director from Aalborg, Denmark, has emerged as a rising star in Car Music, distinguished by his minimalist style and bold genre clashes. Starting his musical journey in his teens, Hawk now collaborates with Denmark’s top DJs, producing hits like “SA-MY-D” with HEDEGAARD, which is nearing 8 million Spotify streams, and their remix of “Ni**as in Paris,” which has over 4.5 million streams. His innovative approach shines in tracks like “SYMPHONY,” a rework of Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5,” which blends Nate Dogg-like vocals with heavy club beats and has garnered significant success on platforms like QQ Music in China.

Hawk continues to push musical boundaries with singles such as “GANG GANG,” featuring a sample from Beethoven’s “Für Elise,” and “OneHundred,” his first non-sample-based track created with HEDEGAARD and CANCUN?, which quickly reached 1 million streams and debuted in the Top 20 on the QQ Music EDM Chart. His latest release, “Hood To The Hills,” also made it into the Top 20 on the same chart, solidifying his status as a trailblazer in the music scene.

The process was a bit different than usual, which ended in a very interesting result. While it exists within the familiar universe of my musical style of low-tempo EDM/urban sound, the production of ‘SKELETON‘ drives the energy forward, where the theme and message touch a more emotional journey and invite the listener to visit sublayers of the mind. It was important for me to maintain a recognizable signature in my music while experimenting with new sounds and moods. The result is a single that challenges the listener – and is different in expression.” – Matt Hawk

Danish artist and “Car Music” movement leader Matt Hawk returns with his latest release, “SKELETON,” a track that masterfully blends emotive and hard-hitting elements. The song begins with ominous melodies that transition into a deep, undulating bassline, dark synths, and menacing vocals, showcasing Hawk’s ability to stay true to his genre while exploring new musical styles.

“SKELETON” uniquely combines low-fi urban vibes with bass-heavy EDM influences, creating a versatile record that evokes the darkness of its lyrics while simultaneously boosting the listener’s energy. This release underscores Hawk’s innovative approach to music, reinforcing his status as a prominent figure in the Car Music movement.
