Madisyn is just over here dropping our latest nostalgia bump. On our latest peek into the folk world we are checking out Madisyn Gifford’s latest drop “Die Happy”. She may have just broken onto the Vancouver indie scene last fall, she is quickly finding her home. Being adept at singing basically since she could talk, Madisyn has been on the path to embracing the life of a musician since she was able to fathom the concept. Now at a mere twenty years old, Madisyn has plenty to tell listeners, along with the skills to back it up. Releasing her debut single “Without You” back in late 2020, she has already amassed almost 200k online streams. After a very active and prosperous 2021, Madisyn is ready to take the rest of 2022 by the horns and make 2022 her year
“This record is an honest look at the healing all of my past romantic endeavours have forced me to go through, and me standing on the other side of that healing filled with gratitude for all of those experiences – even the painful ones,” Gifford shares. “It feels like the music I would’ve listened to as a teenager, but it also feels very current to who I am now, writing these stories in hindsight.”

Written in a quiet moment on Christmas Eve 2021 and later reimagined with producer Jared Manierka, the song transformed from something somber into an unexpectedly upbeat and cathartic anthem. It perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the record—raw, hopeful, and emotionally clear-eyed.
