Love You Later Shares New Emotional Single, “Are You Gonna Care When I Die” | New EP Out 5/5

Even though the alternative world is vast and chaotic, there are a few artists that just embody the smaller niches within. On our latest dive into the alt-pop world we are checking out “Are You Gonna Care When I Die?”, the latest single from Love You Later. Hailing from Nashville, Love You Later is the electronically-infused alt-pop brainchild of artist Lexi Aviles. Since debuting just a few years ago, Love You Later has opened for the likes of OneRepublic, Dayglow, and Briston Maroney,  as well as attended SXSW as an official artist! That isn’t all though, as last year she sold out Nashville’s EXIT/IN and has gained attention from tastemakers such as American Songwriter, EUPHORIA, The Line of Best Fit, FLAUNT, and LADYGUNN just to name a few. Love You Later is currently on a rising path via TikTok and we can’t wait to see that momentum grow even higher now that “KeepInTouch” has dropped.

“I wrote ‘Are You Gonna Care When I Die’ in the midst of a time where I was drowning in rejection from the music industry, and in the real world. No-one seemed to care or listen or take me seriously. I realized that the attention from these people was not worth my time or energy, and ultimately did not define me. The song is a constant reminder to myself to regain my voice and power to tell my own story. The ones that are meant to notice, will notice. Ultimately, it’s a song for anyone who feels insignificant and undermined.” – Love You Later

While we have been keeping an eye on the alt-pop scene with some bit of regularity, there aren’t many artists we can say have that 100% alt-pop vibe. However, the more we are introduced to Love You Later, the more we feel she is pretty much the embodiment of that very familiar scene in every “coming of age” movie. Combining her alt-pop instrumentals with honest lyrics, Love You Later  carefully crafts songs that not only put her true self out on display, but also feel relatable to us common folk. Hell, ” Are You Gonna Care When I Die?” details Love You Later’s feelings of not being taken seriously in either life or in the music industry, so she vows to change her stars and control her own narrative. Regardless, if you are a fan of the lighter side of alt-pop, Love You Later should easily be on your radar.
