Kandle New LP Danger To Dream Out Today Shares 60’s Sci-Fi Video For Mesmerizing “Little Bit Longer”

Every single major project Kandle drops is a beautiful piece of art that stands alone in its own era of Kandle’s career, Growing up in British Columbia with her father Neil Osborne, Kandle was able to experience the music industry from a rather unique perspective. Determined to move against the fray, Kandle made it clear that she has no desire to create disposable ear candy. She has no plans to chase playlist placements, as she simply just wants to tell her story. Following in the path laid for her by strong female icons like Nancy Sinatra, Billie Holiday and Shirley Bassey, her true love of music will serve as her guide. Kandle has already snagged the attention of audiences and critics, snagging a “Video of the Year” JUNO nomination as well as a Prism Prize award for her track “Not Up To Me.”.  Kandle was also nominated for a 2021 Prism Prize for Set The Fire first single, “Lock and Load,”.

We knew we didn’t want to make a dark, sorrowful video for ‘Little Bit Longer;’ it would be an easy, derivative exercise to simply and literally manifest the imagery from the lyrics. Instead, we wanted to chase our nostalgic through-line (like for the ‘Live A Lie’ X-Files video)”

Montreal-based alt-pop artist Kandle’s fifth studio album, *Danger To Dream*, is a self-produced collaboration with Jeff Mitchell that showcases her most refined sound—a captivating mix of trip-hop, rock, and soul, layered with wit and sultry nihilism. The album explores the complex state of the world through Kandle’s unique lens, balancing dark humor with raw vulnerability, making it a definitive entry in her discography.

Accompanying the album is a video for “Little Bit Longer,” a standout track that delves into the heartache of loving someone with a chronic illness, inspired by Kandle’s experience with endometriosis. Directed by Mitchell, the video features psychedelic, 60s’ *Star Trek*-inspired visuals, contrasting the song’s emotional weight with retro sci-fi flair. The result is a striking, otherworldly piece that underscores the album’s themes of love, loss, and acceptance.
