It’s All About the Nitti Gritti: First Single Off New EP “Blame On Me”
In music production, especially when producing an album or EP, it really comes down to the Nitti Gritti deep in the details (That was clunky, but we aren’t apologizing). This work week we have “Blame On Me”, the latest release from relative newcomer Nitti Gritti. Having gained initial success with his remixes of San Halo’s “Lights” and Kanye’s “All of the Lights”, this short year has further increased Nitti Gritti’s popularity with his original productions such as “Dirty Dancing” and “Too Much”. Many of his remixes and originals are now played during powerhouses’ sets such as Diplo, Tiesto, and NGHTMRE.
With “Blame On Me” being the first single from Gritti’s upcoming C’est La Vie EP, feedback is definitely critical. While most the time it is impossible to tell what exactly an artist was trying to accomplish with a track, we can definitely take a guess. The track showcases Gritti’s skills as a producer, as we would say it is a fine example of a hybridation of the hip hop and electro genres. “Blame On Me” has a trap-heavy bass line that blends perfectly well with Gritti’s own vocal work. While we would like to see more from Gritti on the rest of his EP, we would like to continue seeing something different. Surprise us Gritti, we are waiting.
