Henry Fong x Psycho Boys Club Meld Into A Hard Techno/Industrial Amalgamation in “Light’s Out”
While we love to thrive on the chill side of dance music, we occasionally dabble in the hard-hitters. On our latest visit over to Dim Mak we are checking out “Lights Out”, the latest single from Henry Fong and Psycho Boys Club. In case you aren’t familiar with Henry Fong, he has been an absolute force to be reckoned with in the techno/bass scene over the last decade. Over the years, Fong has left his mark on the dance community, especially with his megahit “Rave Tool” that caught the attention of Skrillex, DJ Snake, and Dillon Francis. Fong even created his own imprint, Banzai Records, back in 2015 where he can help cultivate the minds of producers looking for their path forward. Fong’s collaboration list is too lengthy to list entirely, but he’s worked with many playmakers including Hardwell, R3HAB, Deorro, and Rome (from Sublime with Rome).
Formed back in 2019 by producers Juyen Sebulba and Stoltenhoff, who each have their own successful careers as solo musicians. Their hard-hitting style has found their home at Dim Mak and we can’t see them leaving anytime soon.
While many consider techno’s heyday to be long gone, it’s about time for us to ride a second wave. A melding of two drastically different styles, “Lights Out” combines both techno and industrial into an amalgamation that hopefully both camps can appreciate. Focusing on hard-hitting bass and mechanical synths, the track toes the line between futuristic madness and industrial hard-bass-infused chaos. This one was curated for the darkest corners of the festival, where those with unique imaginations live and you are allowed to express who you truly are. “Lights Out” is relentless, luring us out onto the dancefloor for an underground rave where we’ve been absolutely dying to let loose. This one is definitely not for those that are faint of heart, as you better be prepared to let loose and go wild once it’s “Lights Out”.
